I had quite a repressed childhood. I was born in '55 and by the mid '60s it was still very much a sort of '50s mentality there, being so remote. I just found it stifling. And at some point - I think I was about 12 - I came to the conclusion that it was going to be difficult to survive that little society somehow intact. Judy Davis
