Kate brought a real grounding to the character, as well as a solid intelligence. Caroline is very compassionate, but also very straightforward and very strong, and I saw all that in Kate when I first met her and realized I was talking to someone who's wise beyond her 25 years. I also think that Kate's natural effervescence was a great counterbalance to what could easily in someone else's hands have become overly introspective. Kate Hudson
