If you have the mythology clear in your mind from the get-go, and you've laid it out and you have a sense of where you're going, you're in good shape. If you're making it up as you go along, I think that's when you get into trouble. We need to be mindful about having big, surprising payoffs that feel intrinsic to the premise.
